Jono's Operation Open Heart fundraising, PNG 2013
Story
Hi, I'm Jono Nevile and I'm a Biomedical Engineer in Melbourne.
Unlike The Alfred Hospital in Melbourne they don't have a specialist heart hospital in PNG.
I am volunteering with Operation Open Heart in PNG in late July/early August. We are performing life-saving heart operations there that otherwise would not happen. My role in the team is Biomedical Engineer. This means that I will be Setting up the medical equipment and ensuring that it keeps working throughout the project. Each operation costs $3500.00
Operation Open Heart has been coordinating projects like this for over 27 years. In excess of over 130 trips have been coordinated and over 4,000 lives have been transformed! By supporting this important work you are providing much needed funds to support the project costs including supplies, travel expenses, and equipment. Taking large teams and lots of equipment around the world doesn't come cheaply, so every single piece of support will help make a difference.
